I was so impressed with Flavon Max products and their philosophy of producing whole food supplements and I decided to become a distributor. I was very impressed with everything they do to preserve the quality of their whole food supplements from the time the plants are harvested to the time they are introduced to the public as supplements.
Flavon Max Products use only the highest quality ingredients. For the quality and innovation they have been awarded a prestigious prices such as Monde Selection, European Business Award and they have been named as Superbrand. This award ensures their consumers that they buy the best product in their category.
What are Free Radicals?
Free radicals are groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, like dominoes.
In everyday life, our bodies generate free radicals. Normally, the body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if the free radical production becomes excessive, cellular damage can occur.
Bruce Ames, a well-known scientist in the field of antioxidants, estimates that just one cell in the human body is hit about 10,000 times a day by a free radical. If that’s multiplied by the trillions of cells in the body the magnitude of this activity is tremendous.
Free radicals are the major cause of aging and declined health. Antioxidants bind with these free radicals, rendering them powerless to help you maintain optimal health.
If free radicals overwhelm the body's ability to regulate them, a condition known as oxidative stress ensues. Free radicals thus adversely alter lipids, proteins and DNA and trigger a number of human diseases. Hence application of external source of antioxidants can assist in coping with oxidative stress.
Free radical reactions are expected to produce progressive adverse changes that accumulate with age throughout the body. Cancer and atherosclerosis, two major causes of death, are salient “free radical” diseases.
Antioxidants deactivate Free Radicals
Antioxidants are involved in the prevention of cellular damage - the common pathway for cancer, aging, and a variety of diseases.
Antioxidants are molecules which can safely interact with free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before vital molecules are damaged.
Oxidative stress, arising as a result of an imbalance between free radical production and antioxidant defenses is associated with damage to a wide range of molecular species including lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
A role of oxidative stress has been postulated in many conditions, including arthersclerosis, inflammatory condition, certain cancers, and the process of aging. Oxidative stress is now thought to make a significant contribution to all inflammatory diseases (arthritis, vasculitis, glomerulonephritis, lupus erythematous, adult respiratory diseases syndrome), ischemic diseases (heart diseases, stroke, intestinal ischema), hemochromatosis, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, emphysema, organ transplantation, gastric ulcers, hypertension and preeclampsia, neurological disorder (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, muscular dystrophy), alcoholism, smoking-related diseases, and many others.
Bioflavonoids (Free Radicals Scavengers)
Bioflavonoids are natural, plant antioxidants. The main function is to prevent oxidative cell damage. They aid in faster detoxification of toxins, chelation of heavy metals. Flavonoids prevent oxidation of Vitamin C. They are very beneficial for cardiovascular system, lowering blood pressure. In fact they protect the whole cardiovascular system, in particular veins and arteries, as well as the extremely vast network of vaso-capillaries. They possess anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-hemorrhage, anti- haemorrhoidal, anti-abortive, anti-leukemic, anti –thrombotic, anti-aggregate activity.
They maintain the proper functioning of the immune system, the vascular system and the hepatic, dermal and neurological systems. They reduce the fragility of the capillaries and therefore resolve swellings and edema in the lower limbs. They counteract water retention, cellulite, venous problems, and varicose veins, ulcers, and bleeding gums, bleeding from the nose, bleeding hemorrhoids, and disturbances of the retina caused by diabetes.
Most people take single antioxidant vitamins, such as Vitamins C, E and Beta Carotene. You are far better off using whole food antioxidants to nourish and protect your digestive system and immune system because whole food antioxidants contain the two types of antioxidants - the nutrients and their natural enzymes (man-made synthetic supplements do not) and they work synergistically together creating completely new , unique quality.
